Burning Love intrigued me almost immediately. Riley, the handsome firefighter, and Iris the somewhat absent minded fire starter seemed an unlikely match. But like Hildegard, I soon saw the value of the situation for both parties. This story is light-hearted fun despite a dastardly bad guy who threatens the security of the vulnerable and the elderly. Unexpected heroes pop in and out as necessary to save the day and the main characters, including the interfering angels, are likable and sweet. If you want a pleasant little story to warm your heart, Burning Love will fill the bill quite nicely.

There are many conflicts in this story. Riley and Iris try to avoid their growing attraction to each other as they find they have many similar interests. The two pets, a cat and a dog, have to learn to co-inhabit the house in peace. Angelica needs to prove her reliability and responsibility to Hildegard to keep her position in the Relationship Division . And, of course, every good story has to have a villain.
Finding out how Iris and Riley solve them and how they achieve their happily ever after romance made this an interesting, sometimes funny book.

Author Jana Richards throws a fun monkey wrench into this well-written romantic tale. Her two angels working in Heaven's matchmaking department--the repressed Hildegard and the hysterically flaky, Angelica--watch the story unfold and do their best to bring Riley and Iris together. But some of their interferences only cause more problems ...The journey to love for Riley and Iris is sweet, sincere, authentic, and enjoyable. These two lovers in Burning Love leave the reader sighing with contentment. The two trouble-making cupids leave one wondering where they might turn up next.

This story was a lot of fun to read! Angelica’s talent for putting her foot in it was amusing, and I liked seeing Hildegard’s gradual softening towards Angelica. Riley’s need for love and companionship warred with his desire to avoid being hurt, while Iris’ sense of adventure competed with her wish for a home and family. I felt the characters were well-developed and believable, and the settings and situations were realistic, even though part of the story was set in Heaven. This was a delightful book, and one that is easy to recommend.

I really enjoyed this fun and humorous story. I was curious to see if Riley would allow Iris and her cat to live with him and his dog. I knew that it would be an odd pairing if it happened, but I was hoping that Riley would consider it no matter how strange the situation was. All along I wondered what would ultimately come of Iris and I couldn’t wait to see if Riley allowed her to move in. If he did, would she still leave for her new cruise ship job in a few weeks? I’m new to Ms. Richard’s work and I’d love to read more from her to get to know her and her writing much better.

A cute romance with some quirky characters. Not a bad, fun, easy listen. Not usually my cup of tea, but I enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed this lighthearted, entertaining romantic story. Some of the characters were fun and quirky to say the least and the storyline was quite inventive. I enjoyed the idea of the not so perfect together. This was a very enjoyable story which I have no hesitation in recommending it. Kathleen Miranti does a nice job on all the voices.
