Happy #SnippetSunday! Today's snippet is from SEEING THINGS, my paranormal romantic suspense novel. Leah is a psychic who "sees" the abduction of a child. In this scene, she has she has a vision of a snake crawling over the boy, but Leah doesn't know what it means since her visions are often metaphors for something else. The boy's uncle, David, has trouble believing anything about Leah's visions are true.
Excerpt:
"The vision. I saw Jeremy again. There was a snake."
He stared at her, the look in his eyes disbelieving. "You're shaking. Maybe I should get you to a doctor."
"No! I saw him. Why can't you believe me?"
Leah always felt vulnerable and raw after a vision, but this time she teetered dangerously on the edge. She'd known from the beginning that David was skeptical of her and her visions. So why did it hurt so much that he wouldn't believe her?
"Leah, are you all right?"
Grant Hampton stood in the doorway of the bedroom. He entered the room and knelt in front of her, taking her hand in his. "What's happened?"
"I saw Jeremy again, Grant," she whispered, squeezing his hand for reassurance. "There was a snake with him, crawling all over him."
"That's crazy," David said. "Are you saying the person who's holding my nephew is letting him be attacked by some kind of snake?"
Leah looked at David, saw the incredulity in his face, and could have wept.
Blurb:
When psychic Leah McKenna “sees” the abduction of a small boy, she knows she must help find him, no matter the danger to herself. David Logan, the boy’s uncle, doesn’t believe in psychic phenomenon. He believes Leah knows who kidnapped his nephew, and plans to stick close to her to discover the truth. As they search for Jeremy they uncover truths about themselves and the way they feel about each other. Can Leah convince him her visions, and her love for him, are real before time runs out for all of them?
